ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for Indian Nationals and OCI/PIO candidates who have
secured OCI/PIO Card before 04.03.2021 for appearing for JEE (Advanced) 2025

All the candidates must simultaneously fulfil each and every one of the following five
criteria.
Criterion A1- Performance in JEE (Main) 2025:
Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all
categories) in B.E./B.Tech. paper (Paper I) of JEE (Main) 2025.
The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are as follows:
10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining
40.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation
is available for PwD candidates.
The following table shows the order to be followed while choosing the top 2,50,000
candidates in various categories based on the performance in B.E./B.Tech. paper of
JEE (Main) 2025.
Category-wise distribution of top 2,50,000* candidates (Criterion A1)
Sl No. Category Number of “Top” candidates
1 OPEN 96187
101250
2 OPEN-PwD 5063
3 GEN-EWS 23750
25000
4 GEN-EWS-PwD 1250
5 OBC-NCL 64125
67500
6 OBC-NCL-PwD 3375
7 SC 35625
37500
8 SC-PwD 1875
9 ST 17812
18750
10 ST-PwD 938
* The total number of candidates may be slightly greater than 2,50,000 in the
presence of “tied” ranks / scores in any category.

As per the decision dated February 03, 2023 passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of
India in Writ Petition (Civil) 891 / 2021, the OCI/PIO candidates who have secured
OCI/PIO card before 04.03.2021 shall be considered as Indian nationals for the purpose
of seat allocation to IITs. However, these candidates are not eligible for benefits of any
kind of reservation (e.g., GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST) with the exception of OPENPwD. That is, Sl No. (3) to (10) in the above table are not applicable for such OCI/PIO
card holders and these candidates are required to be in the rank list in Sl. No. 1 and / or
2 in the above table.
Criterion A2- Age Limit:
Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years age
relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have
been born on or after October 1, 1995.
Criterion A3 – Number of attempts:
A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of three times in three consecutive
years.
Criterion A4 – Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination*
:
A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for
the first time in either 2023 or 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Candidates who had appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first
time in 2022 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025,
irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered.
* By appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination, it is meant that the Board
concerned declared the result for that year irrespective of whether or not examination
was conducted. It will be considered as an appearance even if the result of a
particular candidate got withheld.
However, if the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results
for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, then the candidates
of that Board who appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2022
are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, provided they meet all the other
eligibility criteria. In case the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent)
declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 before September 21, 2022 but
the result of a particular candidate was withheld for whatever reason, then the
candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025.
Criterion A5 – Earlier admission at IITs:
A candidate should NOT have been admitted to an IIT under any academic program
that is listed in JoSAA Business Rules of 2024 or earlier, irrespective of whether or
not the candidate continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting
“online” / at a “reporting centre” in the past. Candidates whose admission to IITs was

cancelled (for whatever reason) after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear
for JEE (Advanced) 2025.
Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the
first time in 2024 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025.
The candidates who were allocated a seat in an IIT through JoSAA but did not report
“online” OR, (ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, OR, (iii) had their
seat cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs,
are eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2025.

The post JEE Advanced 2025: Number of attempts increased to 3; check other eligibility criteria first appeared on Trigya.

Parents play a crucial role in helping students overcome the difficulties of exams like JEE and NEET.

Cracking JEE and NEET exams is tough for many students in India, but they open doors to great colleges.

To succeed, students need to study hard, get help from experts, and have a strong support system at home. This means having a good place to study, a tutor or coaching if possible, and most importantly, supportive parents.

Parents’ encouragement can really help students do their best. They should praise their hard work and celebrate small wins, not just perfect scores. Parents should also create a calm environment at home where students can focus and talk about any problems they’re facing.

Helping students manage stress is key too. Parents can encourage healthy habits like breaks, exercise, and enough sleep. They can also introduce things to help students relax, like meditation or hobbies.

On top of emotional support, parents can also help with practical things. This could be finding good study materials, enrolling in coaching if needed, or helping create a study schedule that includes breaks and free time. Regularly talking about how things are going and making adjustments to the plan as needed is important too.

If a student faces setbacks, parents can help them see these as learning experiences. Focusing on how much effort a student puts in and the progress they make is better than just worrying about getting perfect scores. If a student is really struggling, parents can find a counsellor to help them deal with the stress.

Smart Choice: Pick sections you’re strong in. Maximize your marks!
Quick Scan: Take 5 minutes to scan the whole paper. Plan your attack!
Timekeeper: Keep an eye on the clock. Don’t get stuck on one question.
Double Round: Try attempting the paper in two rounds. Come back to tricky ones later.
No Guessing: Don’t guess if you have no clue. Avoid negative marks!
Tough Times: Don’t panic if a section is tough. Shine in other sections!
Stay Positive: Remember, everyone gets some questions wrong. Keep your head up!
Analytical Ace: Use your analytical skills to the fullest. They’ll guide you through.
Key Points for Top Rank:

Tips for the Day Before & Exam Day:

Positive Vibes: Think positive and avoid discussing your preparation. Stay calm and confident!
No New Stuff: Don’t study anything new the day before. Relax and revise formulas.
Meditation Magic: Meditate or relax to stay calm and focused on the big day.

Sailing Beyond the Conventional: Uncharted Strategies for JEE & Board Success

Forget the stale, predictable path. This article charts a fresh course for conquering both Boards and JEE exams, not through tired routines, but through unconventional, thought-provoking strategies.

Embracing the Intertwined: Ditch the “separate entities” mindset. Board exams aren’t just stepping stones; they’re the foundation for deeper JEE understanding. See how interconnected they are, and watch your grasp of both soar.

Beyond Bookworms: Apply, apply, apply! Don’t just memorize – find real-world examples of those scientific and mathematical principles. Make knowledge click with everyday life. This practical edge sharpens your skills and makes you a pro at both exams.

Breaking Down the Walls: Smash the subject silos! Physics equations and math formulas dance together? Uncover the hidden connections between subjects. This interdisciplinary tapestry deepens your understanding and gives you a unique perspective to shine in both areas.

Seeing is Believing: Unleash the power of visuals! Mind maps, diagrams, online platforms – anything to turn abstract concepts into eye-catching information. Visual learning sticks, making you the master of memory and comprehension.

Teach to Learn: Become the master by becoming the teacher! Explain concepts to friends, family, even the mirror. This not only solidifies your grasp but also reveals areas needing work. Collaborative learning makes it fun and rewarding.

Calm Amidst the Storm: Prioritize your mental well-being. Meditation, deep breathing, mindfulness breaks – these are your weapons against stress. A composed mind conquers any exam pressure.

Tech to the Rescue: Harness the power of platforms like MyPAT! They personalize your preparation, pinpoint strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately, maximize your success in both Boards and JEE.

Remember, knowledge is a dynamic journey. Explore the uncharted territories, embrace these unconventional strategies, and stand out in the academic ocean. The rewards of a deeper understanding and true excellence await!

As we know that JEE Main April Attempt is just around the corner, here are some important tips and strategies that will help you in your ultimate preparations.

1. Make effective short notes of each chapter.
2. Prepare a Timetable so that you can dedicatedly devote time to self-study
3. 9 hrs of rigorous self-study is highly recommended every day.
4. Learn to balance the time between difficult chapters and simple chapters. 5hrs approximately should be devoted to each chapter.
5. Revise the Revision- It is very important that you revise from the concise notes that you have prepared
6. Don’t ignore any chapter as any basic question can be asked from the same and you might lose some easy marks there.
7. Attempt 12-15 full-length mock tests; 7-8 tests can be attempted to discover the strategy to follow during the final attempt of the exam (choose the subject you are comfortable to attempt first)
8. It is advised that during the main exam, you first analyze the full paper and then start attempting according to the difficulty level.

Finally, Take good sleep of Minimum 7 hrs. These 45 days will prove very crucial in your career so AVOID all sorts of distractions and prepare well.

IIT is a name that doesn’t need an introduction, but why is it so? Why does the name IIT pop up first when someone remotely mentions engineering. Why are Indian parents jealous when someone they know gets into IIT?

Here are 10 facts that state why you should choose IIT for Engineering As A Career!!

They are very competitive, so much so that less than 1% of the total applicant make it to IIT and less than that get the best stream or the stream of their choice, the selection process is such that it takes the cream of the cream when it comes to picking the best minds who get to study at this prestigious institution

Being a government institute they receive a lot of sanctions and grants for research and they are constantly on the verge of innovations and developments most of which are student aided and institution funded, it is one place which kick started the concept of bootstrap and VC funding for entrepreneurs

They are in compliance with the regulatory authority AICTE guidelines, thus always get a high ranking and preference when it comes to any grant vis-à-vis any other big, famous or private engineering college

The faculty is the best in the lot who are majorly alumni or industry vertical experts who have made a name for themselves and are the best guides for students who want to chalk out an affluent career path for themselves

IITs are not all about academics, campus life is fun and they have the best cultural and inter college festivals which make them a hub for 360 holistic learning and recreation

The reputation of an IITian precedes him/her, even in off campus recruitments, IITians get the first preference and the highest package be it any job profile that has been opened

The top recruiters come to IIT first to select the best lot and give the juiciest package, it is completely worth it when a student hustles for 4 years and sits in the final placements, the name of the college is of great help in getting them a superior lifestyle from the very beginning

IIT students get a preference in IIMs and other postgraduate programs, and are always awarded extra points for belonging to an IIT which is of great importance, as MBA colleges consider 1-2 points to disqualify or select a student

The network of IIT is so strong that even while switching a job profile, the name IIT is enough to get you from the waitlist to becoming a selected candidate

IIT offers a variety of bridge courses, live projects and internships from prestigious names, that happen alongside regular classes, so by the time a student graduates they have a diverse and very affluent resume or CV presented to the recruiter which increases the chances of selection by a great level

There used to be a time, if someone asked how to clear JEE Mains, you would always see seniors or teachers saying study 18 hours a day, lock yourself up in a room, forget socializing, this is a highway, and much more to speak of. Well, that was the case where most of the information was the word of mouth and IIT seemed like a far-fetched dream to think of. But does all that holds true in 2022?

Gone are the days when only rampant hours of studying, and excess of cramming made sense. Today to get started with your preparation for JEE Mains, it is important to follow a planned and smart approach. Rather than just going all the way with 500 questions in a day, as used to be the case earlier, plan it out. We at Trigyaa always encourage our students to follow a detailed time table which ensures maximum and holistic coverage of JEE Mains and Advanced syllabus and constant evaluation.

In today’s time, a smart division of Physics, Chemistry and Maths is important. The hard way would be to start with a maximum course in the initial days and then the student being fatigued closer to the D Day. But the smart approach for JEE Mains would be to start with Physics on one day, Maths on the next, and Chemistry on the 3rd day. It will involve taking baby steps, checking how much you can retain, how good is your conceptual understanding and how consistent can you be with covering portions.

Covering a huge chunk on one day and slacking off for the entire week is the enemy of your preparation for JEE Mains. While the smarter person would start slow and pick up one topic from physics, say rotational motion, and cover 4 topics in a day and try to solve easy level questions along the way and then go for trigonometric functions on the next day and equilibrium on the following day. What this will do is, it will ensure slow and steady preparation, and the breakup of different subjects, will have a multi-fold advantage.

It will ensure that the mind does not get fatigued with a variety of topics and subjects, and at the same time stimulate the brain to process information at a steady rate, and in less time. We have to make the mind stronger so that it attains the desired pace that is absolutely necessary for you to stay at par in class and at your coaching for JEE Mains. Every other day should be something different and stimulating for your mind to process more, but at the same time, the mind should not feel pressurised in any way in the initial days as this will set the ultimate momentum for the D Day.

Keep in mind it is not a battle that can be won by following the hard route in less time, but a war that needs a smart, sustainable and holistic approach.

The post JEE Mains: The Hard Way or the Smart Way first appeared on Trigya.

From a theoretical standpoint, three of the pillars of JEE Mains and Advanced, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, have a comparable weightage, but in reality, how to attempt the papers to reap the greatest rewards is a different story.

We at Trigyaa, consider Modern Physics to be the key family member of Physics family in both the papers, one should start with Physics, because it has both numerical and theoretical questions. It challenges the mind but at the same time relaxes it with theoretical questions after every numerical.

On the other hand, mathematics needs the most active mind, so mathematics should not be attempted in one go. For the simple fact that if you find yourself stuck on a question, it breaks the flow and the morale for the entire JEE Mains paper. Thus, switching back and forth between Chemistry and Mathematics will not only give your mind a break, but it will also keep you in the solving mode, so even if you don’t get 1 mathematics question, you will get 5 chemistry questions, which isn’t a bad bargain.

While preparing, Mathematics should be practiced every day. Chemistry comes in 3 parts, focus should be first to deal with physical chemistry, then move towards organic chemistry as these 2 are conceptual while inorganic is majorly theoretical. Results and stats show that in chemistry, physical and organic take the major chunk, so having your head wrapped around them will make sure that 80% of the war is in your favour.

Inorganic should be handled when the mind is not able to take more and it can just memorise not conceptualize, this will make sure that slowly inorganic simmers in.

In physics, electrostats is a very important topic from class 12th perspective, while rotational motion, solids and fluid mechanics will give the most questions, particularly in JEE Advanced from class 11th perspective. Magnetism, Force, Work, Power, and Energy will all appear as wildcard entries in the JEE Mains paper, so make sure you know these concepts so that a large portion of the paper appears achievable, or in other words, like a cakewalk to you rather than a source of anxiety. so, this is how to attempt the papers to reap the greatest rewards!

Mathematics will be tricky, so make sure you keep practicing and solving mock papers. Complex numbers, factorials, and AOD will test your conceptual skills. The intellectual stimulation will come in the form of vectors, permutation and combination, probability, and other topics. Integration and differentiation might oscillate but this is what will test if you have the potential to be a great and competent engineer in IIT, so make sure you do not take these topics lightly.

Overall, coverage of all chapters is important, but make sure you study the previous year’s patterns, as it will give an idea as to which are the HOTS (high order thinking skills) questions and are the ones that should not be taken lightly come what may.

The post Division of PCM first appeared on Trigya.

Needless to say that comprehensive coverage of the whole course for both JEE Mains and Advanced is a sure shot way to kick start your preparation for JEE, and the subject, Chemistry, is no different. Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry are the three branches of chemistry that are equally important in terms of exam scoring.

However, in this particular segment we will try and distinguish organic and inorganic chemistry from a preparation and the weightage standpoint for the JEE Mains and Advanced paper. The approaches for both the branches will be different and it is the state of mind that will dictate which one to go for first, focus on a higher level and give importance to from a total examination focal point.

Speaking of organic chemistry it is more conceptual in nature as it has a lot of reactions, reagents, and mechanisms to depict and remember. From a class 11th and 12th point of view, organic chemistry is scoring, as showing the entire flow of chemical reactions helps in memorizing and tests the presentation skills of the students majorly. When we see from JEE point of view, organic is of higher volume not weightage, as from previous year experience, we can say that Physical and Inorganic combined have more questions in both JEE Mains and Advanced paper than Organic alone. But organic is higher in mental volume as it will require you to have all your major concepts related to mechanisms and reactions on your fingertips, as the questions seen in the paper will be of a higher order than seen in Class 12th board examinations.

Speaking of inorganic chemistry, it is more theoretical and a little conceptual, as we can see that one needs to memorize P block elements, D block elements, their properties, and the major decision-maker, exceptions. Inorganic chemistry from a distant level, is very contradictory, as each element shows exceptions, and there is no easier way than to remember all of these. These types of questions can cause a vast difference in the overall JEE Mains and Advanced cut off, and your rank too, if the exception or the right fact does not click at the time of attempting the paper.

To conclude, if you are more of a conceptual person and seek flows and logic, then organic chemistry is your saviour, you will be able to understand, relate and crack, and it will also mean that your level of comprehension of physical chemistry will also be improved. So you can keep a major chunk of your focus on organic and physical chemistry, after winning that battle, see the best you can make out of inorganic chemistry. However, if you like more of theory, then keep a balance of inorganic and physical chemistry as those 2 combined weigh more than organic chemistry. Emphasize majorly on the theoretical part and factual concepts of organic chemistry, try to master them in the 1st go. Once you can crack this, see how much can you make of the conceptual part of organic Chemistry? Both are important, but save the strengths first, then work on the weaknesses.

The post Organic v/s Inorganic Chemistry first appeared on Trigya.
